Our Materials | The Foundation of Maathi

Sustainibilty Pillar 1

At Maathi, true luxury begins with what you touch, with fabric that moves, breathes, and remembers.

Our story begins with fabric, the starting point of every idea, every gesture, every piece. We sought materials that feel alive, that carry time within their threads, and that remind us that beauty begins with touch.

We travel the world to find only the finest, ethically sourced silks from India, French linens, and lace crafted by heritage houses in Calais. Each is chosen for its quality, durability, and quiet beauty.

What touches your skin should not only feel exquisite, it should honor the earth and respect the hands that made it.

Fabrics of Integrity

Every Maathi fabric begins with an intention: to last.

We work with mills and artisans who share our belief that textiles should age gracefully. Our fabrics are selected for their purity, responsibility, and enduring strength.

Because a Maathi piece isn’t designed for a season. It’s created to accompany you across years, a garment that becomes part of your journey, and one day, perhaps, a keepsake of someone else’s.

The Artisan Touch

Our materials come to life through craftsmanship.

Hand-embroidered by indian artisan, on french linen. preserving ancient techiniques

Hand-dyed silks, delicate hand-embroidery, and carefully finished linens are all shaped by artisans who bring generations of skill to their work. Each thread is guided by patience, precision, and respect...an unhurried process where imperfection becomes individuality, and luxury is found in time itself.

This is the unseen artistry behind every Maathi piece, where ancient techniques meet modern design, and where fabric becomes feeling.

Responsibility in Practice

Every material we choose and every partnership we form is guided by integrity.

We source transparently, work in small quantities, and collaborate with artisans under fair, respectful conditions. Sustainability for us is not a label, it is a practice of awareness, craftsmanship, and care at every step of creation.

Luxury that Endures

Choosing these materials was not the easiest path...it meant moving slower, producing less, and holding ourselves to a higher standard. But in that slowness, Maathi found its soul.

We see every fabric as the beginning of a story, one that gathers life as it’s worn, softens with time, and remembers where it has been.

This is what defines Maathi: not fleeting fashion, but living craftsmanship, pieces made to travel with you, age with grace, and become heirlooms of quiet beauty.

Because true luxury doesn’t fade. It endures, softens, and remembers.
